17.12.2022It makes me kinda cry, I suffer from depression for like one year and it just drained me out from a lot of positives things and thoughts – I have stopped spending time with my online friends, I have lost all of my hobbies, plans for future etc. This speech really hit me and I hope I will be able to make myself more pursuing my own goals. I've just started teaching how to draw and even if I'm not making any pieces of art, it can make me satisfied or even happy when I will be doing something to myself and not comparing to others… Thank u, Nina, you're really smart and precious woman. Right now I'm going for tissues 😅

16.12.20224:58 Oh my god. So much this. I always tell that to my brother and my sister. I tell them I found out the hard way: DO care what others think, DO care about what others see. You will live a better life if you care. It's very important to care about people you want to and people you want to impress. Everything everyone else told you to not care is BS.
The only thing I want them to do is to include themselves into the people they want to impress. That's how you progress as a person. Do NOT accept who you are. Do NOT accept that this is the best you can ever be. Do NOT accept that just being yourself is how things will change. That is a lie to keep you down. There is so much potential in you that is waiting to be discovered, waiting to be explored, waiting to be shown to the world. Do NOT accept accepting yourself as you are.

16.12.2022I shared this clip in twitter, and i agree on Nina's takes here.
Nice to know she's also emotional like me, tbh, i will study this clip to apply it to myself, since i sometimes get triggered by my own emotions, and mental illnesses, and it is hard for me to shut up and swallow the toxicity.
Thank you so much for clipping this, also Nina's outfit slays here.

15.12.2022Nina is a treasure, I often feel bad that she has to deal with some people that seem to very easily jump to conclusions, or just follow their instinct to ask and do stuff without a second thought. Thank you for taking time to clip and share this with us 🙏

15.12.2022It reminds me a lot about a quote from Uncle Iroh, which is: "You got to look inside and ask yourself: Who are you and what do you want in life?"

15.12.2022This convo is a perfect example of why I love Nina so much.
She can be a fun wine Mom or she can be someone giving you important advice you need to hear. These more serious talks really illustrate what makes Nina such a cool and interesting streamer.
Thanks for the advice Mom!!

15.12.2022I needed to hear this today. not even applying to corpos, i just needed to hear this about my indie streaming career.

15.12.2022I don't agree with everything but I'm glad she's pushing people to be more self-reflective, I think everyone needs to step back sometimes and critically reevaluate themselves

15.12.2022When she talked about the streams I'm not gonna lie. I felt so validated about what I'm trying to with my content and making it better. I've just been to busy but to hear what she said bought me to a bit of tears and I'm glad to have heard it today

14.12.2022Another thing to remember for anyone out there wanting to make a career as a Vtuber you'll need connections, without solid connections and a stable network you're going to struggle.
It's the same for a lot of careers, my favorite example being artists and 'wasting money' on art college/university, because a lot of people don't understand what you're getting from it. You can be an outstanding artist and absolutely flounder, you can also be mediocre and find massive success, but in either situation it's likely because of the network and connections you have. This is why it's important for people to realize that you're going to these institutions not just to learn but to establish yourself, to get your name spread, to make friends who can help you out. Now that said you still need talent to be noticed, but it's much much much harder to gain traction if you don't have people with industry connections aware of your individual talents and passions.
A lot of the bigger names in Vtubing are people with those connections and networking, they have years under their belts and know people in the industry that can potentially help them out. They established themselves first and then found opportunities they wanted to apply for with a solid foundation, some got their starts in completely unrelated fields too.
So my advice to anyone looking for a career in a field they're passionate about is to network, make friends, get to know people, don't seclude yourself with the idea that your raw talent alone can bring you success.
You'll get much much much farther in life with support than you ever will solo.

14.12.2022This clip found me at the right moment… i kinda need to hear these words these days…

14.12.2022Some good advice for life in general, except I don't think I'll get a positive response from family. My mom now sees me as a failure and embarrassment to her and even called me stupid for not peeling an egg perfectly…

14.12.2022Even if not for audition or anything, these advices really good for self improvement actually and especially really helpful to some people who lost the understanding about themselves after trauma or extreme gaslight for long term, thank you so much for clipping this and thank you nina for wise words 🤍

14.12.2022this has really helped me and inspired me to keep trying because its my dream to be a vtuber. I've been auditioning since the first hololive and Nijisanji auditions for en. I kinda lost hope and motivation in myself and it really helped to listen to nina speak about her experience and what I could do to improve. Thank you nina

13.12.2022Now I see why some brain rot Twitter accounts are giving her shit, she will speak the truth and they don’t want her ruining their image and ulterior motives.

13.12.2022Thank you, internet fox mom, for helping me with my identity crisis

13.12.2022Aww this was super great advice! She seems like a great person. I’m always irritated at the “not everyone can be good at xx” like yes, some people are more naturally inclined to learn a certain thing, but everyone can do it as long as you put in enough effort in the right places. Even tone deaf people can sing. And there is no such thing as a bad content creator. Sure you may not like certain content (I’m sure I have plenty I dislike lol) but there will always be an audience no matter what kind of content you produce. Sure there are lower and higher quality content, but that doesn’t necessarily mark them good or bad. And it doesn’t make the streamer them self a bad or good streamer. Anyone can be anything, I think there are outside factors that make it hard yes, but if we take away factors like money and location, I think everyone has the opportunity to be anything they want.

13.12.2022Nina has some amazing wisdom, i'm glad she's spreading it in a positive way

13.12.2022Facts. Bravo to Nina for saying this and Smoothie for clipping it.
I needed to hear this. I'm not good at evaluating my strengths and weaknesses; I don't PRACTICE self awareness enough. I think a lot of guys aren't, it's not a topic that comes up often and when it does it's really awkward to try to articulate, it feels like bragging/boasting or putting myself down/fatalism/admitted defeat/weakness, and I don't really want to do either one, positive or negative. I mean, I wish I would point to the things I'm good at and be like, "see, these are my strengths", but it just doesn't materialize like that.. Comparison is the thief of joy, or something like that?
But Nina's right, self awareness is a skill like any other, I just need to take time to consciously, deliberately practice it more often.
VForceWave
12.12.2022"Not everyone is good at math" is such a room temp iq take, ANYONE can learn and practice any skill, it just takes a good work ethic which is part of the personal development being discussed here

12.12.2022Trying to be a better streamer everyday is so much hard work man. As I time goes by little by little I have to keep track of so many things and remember so many people and try to think of how I'll make the next schedule and the next stream better and easier to be noticed by people. Also it's so hard to figure out what I am and where I should go next. It's especially hard when you're getting sick all the time and also a Student at the same time.. I could go on forever about this lmao
MrSmitheroons
12.12.2022I like that she is "abrasive" and intense, but she so clearly cares a lot underneath it. It's a good mix of "chaos" and "good friend/mentor figure" and yes people think of her as an unofficial mom, lol. It's less pressure because she can pop off and say stuff, but she is a good soul underneath and more wholesome/uplifting really through all of it. A good person to be around IMO, for the other talents but also as a fan.
Trying not to think too hard about the advice, because damn that's good, but need to charge my energy up to look at myself like that, lol. What a good advice. Will have to think on that and look at myself more often and think who I am who I want to end up, and then let's do it, let's go there, let's set aside and put in those hours. Personal growth and development is scary and hard like she says, but her idea how to plan for it sounds amazingly helpful. IKZ everyone let's do better! Nina motivational speaker hype!
PROJECT VD
12.12.2022I've always had a similar problem and i used to think that i was self aware i tried to be friendly and nice but people misunderstood me, even if i try to make someone laugh they would misunderstand because of the tone of my voice, or my expressions, or they'd take my jokes too seriously, and it kinda makes me sad because i lost a lot of friends and i ruined my relationship with my family just because of the way i talk

12.12.2022I don’t even watch Nina that much but god do I have so much love and respect for this woman she is just so real and so genuine

12.12.2022It's all true. I feel like you become more comfortable and aware in your own skin as you get older. I did a lot more posturing and compensating crap when I was younger because I was so much more worried about looking like this or that to others, but as I got older I stopped caring about that as much because I got more comfortable with who I was. It's not about not caring what others think, but it's more about being aware of your strengths and flaws and being more honest with yourself about it, and handling those things in a more mature way instead of trying to hide and compensate about everything.
RvLeshrac
12.12.2022Note here that there are, in fact, "Bad Streamers" and "Good Streamers," but if you're judging that only based on whether or not you personally like their content, that's a "You" problem.
